Salesforce's headline number is $2 per conversation. Here's what that means in practice — and why it's almost never the real number.
Agentforce pricing starts at $2 per conversation. Salesforce quotes this as affordable AI automation for any team size. And in isolation, $2 sounds cheap.
The problem is what counts as a conversation. For RevOps automation — pipeline sweeps, data checks, lead routing — every automated action is a conversation. A pipeline hygiene agent that checks 200 deals twice daily is 400 conversations. At $2 each, that's $800/day, or roughly $24,000/month, for one automation.
Agentforce also requires Einstein add-on licensing in most configurations. That's $75–150/user/month depending on your Salesforce edition. For a 25-person team: $1,875–$3,750/month before the first conversation runs.
On Unlimited edition, some Einstein features are bundled — but the autonomous agentic layer (the part that actually does things without human prompting) requires additional licensing in almost every real-world configuration.
Agentforce is the right call when: you need deep Einstein integration (Opportunity Scoring, Einstein Forecasting), you're already on Unlimited with sunk licensing costs, or your use case is customer-facing (chatbots, case deflection) rather than internal RevOps.
For internal pipeline automation on a mid-market org, the numbers rarely work out below 500 seats.
Pipeline Pulse takes a different approach: AI compiles your rules once, then deterministic scans run on a schedule with zero AI cost at runtime. Hourly sweeps, fixed pricing, no new Salesforce license required. For most sub-500 seat RevOps teams, it's 95% of the value at under 10% of the Agentforce cost.
